About Us
Originally formed in 1987 as Acomarit Consulting to provide ship inspection and superintendency services for the Acomarit managed fleet of wet and dry cargo vessels. When Acomarit was acquired by V.Group the business was renamed V. Ships Consulting with a daughter company SeaTec Safety Services providing independent onboard safety assessments and safety training.
Through our brand Marlins we are the leading supplier of language training and testing solutions for seafarers. This business has now been expanded to include computer based training (CBT) packages and includes our online shop.
Our Repair Services Group formally named SeaSquad was integrated into SeaTec in April 2008. SeaTec Repair Services supplies high quality repair and riding squad teams for port and in-service repairs worldwide.
In June 2006 the board decided to re-brand the whole business as SeaTec with specialist groups for Engineering, Repair Services, Condition Monitoring, Safety Management, Operational Safety and Marlins. SeaTec is a part of the V. Ships Marine Services Division which also includes UMC the underwater maintenance company aquired in 2005, SeaCom, travel, agency and insurances services.
In August 2007 we opened our new offices in the 1st Floor of the Skypark office complex close to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), Glasgow City Centre and within easy reach by car, train or other public transport to Glasgow and Edinburgh International Airports.
We have support offices in Farringdon Street, London; Dong Fang Road Pudong, Shanghai, China; Keppel Towers, Singapore; Fujairah Freeport, UAE.
The present workforce exceeds 250 permanent and associates worldwide including Naval Architects, Marine Design Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers, Ship Repair Specialists, Condition Monitoring Specialists, Safety, Risk and Environmental Engineers, Master Mariners, Chief Engineers, English language and computer based training specialists. Our range of services is reflected in the comprehensive scope of our ISO 9001:2008 Accreditation.
