SeaTec provides a comprehensive range of services and products to meet the needs of the shipping, offshore and defence industries. Originally formed in 1987 we are now an international business providing services to support new building, ship repair and conversion projects. Our range of services includes engineering, repair, condition monitoring, and safety, environmental and risk management.
In addition, through our brand "Marlins" we are the leading supplier of language training; testing and computer based training (CBT) solutions for seafarers.
Our head office is located in Glasgow with autonomous offices in London, Shanghai, Singapore and Dubai. We have extensive new building and conversion project experience in Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Batam, Dubai, North America and Europe.
Services and Products
Engineering
Engineering services we offer cover the whole product lifecycle and include: Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering concept studies, shipyard selection, detailed design engineering, shipyard contract negotiations and building supervision, project management, cost control and schedule planning, forensic and expert witnesses.
Software tools used include NAPA, AutoCAD, Maxsurf, Hecsalv, Strand 7, Shipsure Shipmanagement Software and specially developed software for marine engineering and electrical systems design.
Repair Services
Repair services we provide include: voyage and port repairs on cruise and cargo (wet and dry cargoes) ships. Riding squads located in several countries and strategically based to serve large shipping traffic to minimise travelling time and to be in a position to respond to emergency repairs at short notice.
Condition Monitoring
Condition Monitoring provides condition monitoring and lubricating oil analysis services. Protecting Assets with Condition Monitoring Technology (PACT) is a complete condition monitoring solution ensuring that critical systems are monitored 24 hours while others are monitored periodically.
Safety Management
Formal Safety Assessments and Management techniques to provide substantiation and justification that safety and risks are considered to be acceptable using HAZOP, SWIFT, FMEA and PFEER techniques.
Environmental services offered include vessel energy and CO2 management, green passports for end of life vessels and environmental impact assessments.
Operational Safety
Ship Safety Inspections including pre-vetting audits, ISM audits, development and implementation of Safety Management Systems (SMS), Port Captaincy and Cargo Operations.
Onboard Training, drills and exercises, chemical and oil spill response advice.
Marlins
Working with employers internationally to establish standards of English language competence required for safe and accurate communications. All study and test materials approved by UK MCA, IMO, ISF and INTERTANKO.
